Eric Chevalier

Eric Chevalier has been messing around with and in boats since before he could walk. He sailed on the lakes of eastern Ontario growing up, as well as many trips to the Caribbean where his family’s sailboat was kept. His love of wooden boats was nurtured when he crewed aboard the 150’ tall ship, Pogoria, on an around the world trip more than 20 years ago. Afterwards, Eric moved to BC and spent many years living on the coast and in the Gulf Islands, sailing the Pacific Ocean and working with wood.

His love of sailing and his appreciation of the beauty of wood, come together in his passion for wooden boats.

Eric has been building boats for 14 years and trained under shipwright Bob Wyche at the Silva Bay Shipyard School. His attention to detail and desire for quality, were attributes that made him excel in his training.

When not building wooden boats, Eric works the winters as lead ski guide for SnowH20 Heliskiing and Valhalla Powdercats Snowcat Skiing, and spends the summer sailing the lakes of the Kooteneys with his wife, Jennifer, and daughters, Daisy and Lola.
